Also running late today and allowing a better shot were the Avon bins, seen with 66550 passing Hinksey lakes. The shadow on the left is from a huge partition hiding Hinksey VQ,
seemingly something NR don't want the punters to see!

The partition is a sound barrier, as there was an uproar by the local 'nimby' brigade when the VQ was opened (2000ish)despite the railway yard being there for over 100 years!.I remember seeing 'Railtrack Vandals' protest banners hung in the huge trees...

The partition is a sound barrier, as there was an uproar by the local 'nimby' brigade when the VQ was opened (2000ish)despite the railway yard being there for over 100 years!.I remember seeing 'Railtrack Vandals' protest banners hung in the huge trees by the lake on the right and graffiti on rolling stock! A rake of mkI parcel vans was used before the sound barrier was built.

Nice collection!
